The film drama Her Body by director Natália Císařovská is inspired by the fate of top athlete Andrea Absolonová, who became a porn actress and tragically died at the age of only 27. It will premiere in the fall, and now the first teaser trailer presents it. The heroine was portrayed by Slovak Natália Germáni, her mother Zuzana Mauréry and her sister Denisa Barešová.

Absolonova, which she lived between 1976 and 2004, she was a five-time national diving champion and qualified for the Olympic Games in Atlanta. But she did not participate in those in 1996. During training, she injured her spine, which meant the forced end of her sports career.
Subsequently, the former athlete turned into a well-known porn actress, under the stage name Lea De Mae, she shot more than a hundred erotic pictures. Finally, at the age of 27, she succumbed to a rare form of brain cancer.
The creators of her film story tried to approach the topic without tabloidization. “The choice of co-screenwriter Aneta Honzková, producer Viktor Schwarc, who does artistic things, and the crew was important. All the components approach it as a work of art, not a tabloid,” said director Natálie Císařovská.
“It was delicate in relation to the actors and to myself, at a certain point we worked with real porn actors, with whom we let some scenes go. I assume that not everything will be usable, but we are not trying to comb anything petty-bourgeois,” added the author of the film.
Filming ended last September, the last shots were taken in a cafe and an arcade in the center of Prague. In them, the protagonist faces her younger sister, played by Denisa Barešová, who blames her for her career in the porn industry. “I was interested in the relationship the main character has with her own body, the fact that up to a certain point she only takes it as a tool for some kind of performance. For me, it’s also a reflection on how the body and soul are connected, on how the public perceives the heroine , who goes through these professions and goes to the market with her skin. Last but not least, it’s a lot about the sisterly relationship,” describes the director.
He emphasizes that the film Her Body is not biographical, but inspired by a real fate. “Andrea Absolonová was really a top athlete, then after an accident she became a famous porn actress and finally died of cancer at the age of twenty-seven. These are the facts we stick to. Also how her family reacted to the situation. However, certain nuances are already ours license,” explains the director.
Together with the co-author of the script, Aneta Honzková, they sought, among other things, to find connections between two seemingly different worlds. “While athletes are perceived as heroes in our society, the work of a porn actor is considered morally low. In reality, however, the environment of sports and porn is more similar than it might seem,” said Císařovská in an interview for Aktuálně.cz.
She studied history at the Sorbonne in Paris and documentary production at FAMU in Prague. Her bachelor’s twenty-eight-minute film Until the Sunset from 2014 was appreciated by the Febiofest audience.
