JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Two years since the pandemic in Indonesia, many changes have occurred in various aspects of people’s lives. Starting from habits in activities, transactions, to running business.

With the limitations on community activities during the pandemic, several businesses that previously focused on physical outlets and offline sales have begun to explore digital sales channels to provide frozen packaged products.

This was also done by Khairul Amri, the owner of Mr. Dimsum Whilewhich must rack the brains so that businesses can continue to run during the pandemic to avoid staff cuts.

Founded by Khairul Amri, or known as Ari, Mr. Dimsum offers various variants dim sum both in the form of ready-to-eat and frozen that can be sent outside Medan, even outside the island of Sumatra.

With this enthusiasm and various efforts, now Mr. Dimsum has a total of 13 outlets spread across several locations in North Sumatra.

However, Ari’s journey to become as successful as he is today is not easy. Since the beginning, he has experienced many ups and downs, including when he was constrained by capital until the pandemic hit.

Support the adoption of digital technology in Mr. business. Dimsum and his decision to enter the digital ecosystem is also one of Ari’s ways to maintain the existence of the business.

“From the start, I believed that the demand for food was very large, especially those that could be enjoyed in all situations. For that, while selling dimsum from agents, I slowly began to learn how to produce, equipment, and the capital needed. After the capital was collected, I was finally able to open my own factory and expand my business scale by adding a choice of frozen products to be sold by customers reseller,” said Khairul Amri during a press conference with ShopeePay which was broadcast recently.

It didn’t stop there, he also adopted the ShopeePay payment service at the outlets so that customers can transact more securely and join as merchant ShopeeFood to make it easier for consumers who want to enjoy various dim sum menus from home.

Ari, who previously worked as an office boy, didn’t think he could build Mr. Dimsum up to now.
