Sasha Emery seizes every opportunity to work for what is important to her: the environment. From a United Nations (UN) conference to a podcast, nothing stops this young Franco-Yukon woman who wants to get involved in the fight against climate change.
Just back from New York where she attended the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, Sasha Emery was surprised to see how such an imposing organization works, but which she sometimes considers a little slow.
It was really interesting, there were representatives from pretty much every country there who were there and who were doing an assessment of their progress. There were 5 or 6 objectives that they had to assess. […]We were there to listen, but also to give the perspectives of young Canadians, she explains.
Sasha Emery has recently also started producing the podcast Climate conversation with a young Manitoban. Faced with the proliferation of English-language podcasts, she wanted to contribute her stone to the building, but in French.
“We dissect current environmental issues, especially in Canada, but also internationally. […] The goal is to do this for young French-speaking Canadians in minority settings.”
