From New York to Cuxà to Codalet: reception of 3D digital prints

The Cultural Association of Cuxà has received the fingerprints of the 12th century sculpted fragments found in The Cloisters museum in New York. Submitted by the Met Museum, scans of the fragments were taken on site by the imaging department and sent to the association. Olivier Poisson was commissioned to have them produced by a service provider, Mercury (Eloi Gattet, Fabrice Martinez) in Marseille, in 3D. Suffice it to say that it is a great Christmas present for the members of the association who have received them: Bruno Despas, Marie-Christine Charlet and Claude Guisset Ducar unpacked the parcel that day with joy. At their side, Mayor Michel Llanas and the organizer of architecture and heritage, Quentin Henric, had come to share this festive moment with the association.

Pieces that were once sold are returning from New York to form the abbey church’s future projected gallery: the partition. These digital prints are meant to be carved into pink marble by the expert hands of stonemasons.
