Remarkable: after the longer autumn break the experts call for a restart of education “in a form that is strictly adapted to the epidemiological situation”, in particular the original code orange, with students from the third to sixth secondary (second and third grade) attending school only 50 percent. For the other pupils (those from nursery and primary education and the first two years of secondary education) this is not covered.
This has already been discussed before: something like this would be possible if the schools could also reach all students digitally, and if the unions agree.
Molenberghs himself is a bit more nuanced about the 50-50 than what is stated in the report: “We want the schools to weigh this up individually, or region by region. When they say ‘we have vulnerable young people and prefer not to do this’, okay? , but if they prefer to do this, it is possible. We see that some schools are already switching back spontaneously. It is up to each of them to weigh this up, we indicate, but the minister and his partners decide. ”
