Not now, but not later either: the members and friends of the Traunsee Trail Running Club (TTC) were able to demonstrate their vocal endurance on stage in Bad Ischl on Wednesday evening to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”. . Previously, at least 22 of them had walked 33 kilometers from the town hall square in Gmunden to the imperial city for the Christmas miracle. Eight runners started in Ebensee (still 17 kilometers), and another eight ran around ten kilometers from Bad Ischl and back again.
Almost 40 headlamps finally illuminated the path to the stage, where the athletes handed over the donations that they had collected during joint runs over the past few weeks. 2,160 euros were raised for families in need. Gmunden’s mayor Stefan Krapf (VP) also contributed something in front of the town hall.
New club, new additions
“We are pleased that we were able to make a contribution. Even though we were hit hard by the rain in Ebensee,” says Paul Prechtl, chairman of the TTC. The newly founded club (officially from January), which was created through the organization of the Traunsee Trail Running Cup, will also take care of organizing the “Mülibankerl Run” in Gmunden for the first time in 2024 – together with long-term organizer Johann Prangl.
