Sore throat is a disease that is often experienced when the seasons change or when you eat too much food that triggers an itchy throat. A sore throat refers to pain, itching, or irritation in the throat. Apart from pill medicines, there are various drug natural sore throat that can be tried to relieve symptoms.
Sore throat is the main symptom of sore throat. This may get worse when trying to swallow. You may find it difficult to swallow food and liquids.
Even if a sore throat isn’t serious enough to take to the doctor, it still hurts and may prevent you from sleeping well. Luckily, you can use home remedies to relieve pain and irritation.

1. Honey

However, don’t give honey to children under 1 year of age.
2. Salt water
Gargling with warm salt water can help relieve sore throats and break down secretions. Salt is also known to help kill bacteria in the throat.
Make a water solution with half a teaspoon of salt in a full glass of warm water. Gargle to help reduce swelling and keep your throat clean. This should be done every three hours or so.
3. Peppermint
Peppermint is known for its ability to freshen breath. Diluted peppermint oil sprays can also relieve sore throats.
Peppermint contains menthol, which helps thin mucus and soothes sore throats and coughs.
Peppermint also has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties, which can promote healing.
Never use essential oils without mixing them with a carrier oil such as olive oil, sweet almond oil, or softened coconut oil.
For peppermint oil, mix five drops of essential oil with one ounce of the carrier oil of your choice. But remember, never ingest essential oils, but only inhale the aroma as aromatherapy.
4. Garlic

Garlic also has natural antibacterial properties. It contains allicin, an organosulphere compound known for its infection-fighting abilities.
A study has shown that taking garlic supplements regularly can help prevent the common cold virus.
Adding fresh garlic to your diet is also one way to get antimicrobial properties.
You can try it by eating a clove of garlic to soothe a sore throat, but brush your teeth immediately to protect your teeth from enzymes and freshen your breath.
5. Chamomile tea

Chamomile tea is naturally soothing and has long been used for medicinal purposes, such as soothing sore throats.
This tea is often used for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and astringent properties.
Several research reviews have shown that inhaling chamomile vapors can help relieve cold symptoms, including sore throats.
Drinking chamomile tea can also provide the same benefits. This can stimulate your immune system to help your body fight the infection that’s causing your sore throat.
Although there are several natural sore throat remedies, treating a sore throat may be different for babies and children.
Some tips that can be done to relieve sore throats in children:
1. Add a humidifier to your child’s room as humidity can help relieve sore throat pain.
2. Keep children hydrated by encouraging them to drink as much water as possible.
3. Children under 5 years old should not be given strong cough medicines or anything that can create a choking risk. Be careful when giving cough medicine to children under 10 years of age.
