During the Commonwealth Games 2022, social media users shared a video of Indian athlete Hima Das and claimed that it was after she won the gold medal. Many influencers also shared this video on social media.
Vishvas News’ investigation found the viral claim to be misleading. Actually the viral video was not from the Commonwealth Games 2022, but from the Under-20 World Athletics Championship, in which Hima Das won the gold medal. This championship was held in Finland in 2018.

Similarly, by sharing a video of a Blade Runner running, some social media users claimed that it is of Indian player Nikhat Zareen. Nikhat Zareen has won gold medal in athletics for the first time.
Vishvas News’ investigation found the viral claim to be false. Actually the viral video was of Ambra Sabatini, the player who won the race in Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. She hails from Italy, while India’s Nikhat Zareen won gold in boxing at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Another post regarding Indian athlete Hima Das also went viral on social media. By sharing a picture of a marks table in the post, it was claimed that Hima Das had won six out of ten golds in the Commonwealth Games. After this success of Hima Das, India came first in the points table.
In the investigation of Vishvas News, this claim also turned out to be false. Actually, Hima Das did not win six medals in the Commonwealth Games.

A post was shared on social media claiming that Hima Das achieved a new success by breaking the record of famous runner Milkha Singh in the 400 meter race.
When Vishvas News investigated this claim, it was found to be false. Hima Das did participate in the 200m and 4X100m relay races in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, but she could not break any of Milkha Singh’s records.
