From Gas Station to Success: The Inspiring Story of Leroy Lita

The player who was rejected by Chelsea worked at a gas station…then he succeeded

The road to success in the English Premier League is without obstacles

The path to success in the English Premier League is without obstacles, but Leroy Lita responded well to it, improving in the Chelsea academy between 1999 and 2001, before his dream at Stamford Bridge was shattered, when he was let go and was forced to do other work.
Lita did not have time to take on special jobs, and he said, “My family was by my side, when they told me in the Blues, you have no chance, and after I was released at the age of sixteen, I worked in a gas station and did some construction work.”
Lita listened to his instincts and refused to give up on his dreams, so he contacted different academies in the hope of getting his chance, which is what Bristol City gave him. He scored five goals in a trial match, then scored 36 goals in 96 matches for the first team, before moving to Reading.
With Reading, the player enjoyed his greatest successes, then played in Nuneaton, and represented more than 20 clubs in many countries, including Crete and Thailand, forgetting the difficult period he lived through in his early years.
