The special thing about it: The 25-year-old was already active in Hamm, because in the first premier league season of Westphalia, the native of Menden played in the C youth team. “Back then I always went to the games in the WESTPRESS arena, I even saw Thomas Lammers as a player there,” recalls the rotation player, who is now looking forward to his return to “home”. “It was always a great atmosphere in the arena, I was able to experience that as an opponent there,” continued the right-hander. “Philip has been established in his position for years and is a very complete player and also an uncomfortable opponent in defence. We are delighted that he has chosen us,” stressed Lammers when announcing the change of direction.
Jungemann, whose brother Eike was also active for the ASV in the A youth Bundesliga and in the second men’s team, is given a two-year contract. The 32-year-old Benjamin Meschke, who switched to ASV during the winter of 2021 during the season and recently reported fit again after surviving an injury, will not receive a contract extension in the pivot position.
