Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan managed to advance to the finals All England 2023 after winning 21-15, 19-21, 29-27 over Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang. The game was dramatic, especially at the end of the third game.
Since the score was tied at 14-14 in the third game, tight scores continued to occur between Ahsan/Hendra and Liang/Wang. Ahsan/Hendra took the lead even though they were left behind once at 16-17.
Ahsan/Hendra then won their first match point at 20-19 and failed to maximize it well because Ahsan’s punch hit the net. The next two match points that failed were 21-20 and 22-21.
After failing to maximize match points three times, Ahsan/Hendra turned around in a stressful situation because it was Liang/Wang’s turn to win match points for the first time at 23-22.
This match point was successfully thwarted by Ahsan/Hendra, as well as the next two match points that were won by Liang/Wang at numbers 24-23 and 25-24. Liang Weikeng’s service error was one of the advantages for Ahsan/Hendra so that they could survive this critical condition.
The wind of victory again blew towards Ahsan/Hendra at 26-25. But this opportunity also flew back from the hands of The Daddies.
The same thing happened with numbers 27-26. Liang/Wang’s aggressive attack forced Ahsan/Hendra to fail to close the match on the fifth match point opportunity.
The sixth match point finally came for Ahsan/Hendra. Ahsan/Hendra carefully placed the shuttlecock in the empty space in Liang/Wang’s defense.
Under the conditions of the sixth match point, 28-27, Ahsan/Hendra were finally able to lock in the win. Ahsan/Hendra won the rally after their opponent’s return hit the net.
Ahsan / Hendra also successfully advanced to the 2023 All England final.
