From Conflavoro Pmi proposal on fair pay and quality Collective Labor Agreement – Il Tempo

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Conflavoro Pmi has delivered its own draft law to the Government and Parliament which aims to encourage quality national collective bargaining and guarantee fair wages for workers in the private sector.
The proposal was sent to Minister Calderone and to all the majority and opposition parliamentary groups, as well as to the Labor commissions of the Chamber and Senate.
“This draft law represents a fundamental step towards the valorisation of work. Workers must receive a heavier paycheck but minimum wage is not the right way forward. The objective of our proposal – explains Roberto Capobianco, president of Conflavoro Pmi – is to encourage collective bargaining and fight the so-called pirate contracts. On the one hand we have provided for tax relief for companies that gradually increase the salary of only those workers who receive a really low salary, therefore not indiscriminately, on the other – continues Capobianco – we have proposed the identification of the most applied salary in a given sector that acts as a parameter for all the others, so as to counter the phenomenon of contractual dumping, the so-called pirate contracts. We ask the majority and opposition forces to seriously consider this bill in the context of the current political debate. It is an opportunity – concludes Capobianco – to demonstrate that the well-being of workers and the success of companies are not conflicting objectives, but can and must go hand in hand”.
