“I name you” is the motto of the campaign that consists of making known there for 24 hours who are the minor victims of the genocide perpetrated by Tel Aviv.
“This is an initiative that comes from the coordination of residents of the Ñuñoa commune to make visible what is happening in Palestine and stop talking about the victims as if they were numbers,” the member of that group Álvaro Pardo told Prensa Latina.
He denounced the terrible situation in Gaza, a territory much smaller than the Chilean capital, where some two million people live, which is being permanently bombed and the number of fatalities is close to 42,000.
The tribute began on Friday at 3:00 p.m. (local time) and will last until today afternoon.
“The idea is that people understand what is happening because the only way to stop this horror is for all the people in the world and the governments to say: this has to stop,” he said.
Pardo stated that the conflict in the Middle East is spreading and Israel has no intention of stopping.
“The drama that the Palestinian people are experiencing is a drama of all humanity,” he said.
The activist called on Chile and the world to mobilize for peace to stop this barbarity.
A demonstration in solidarity with Palestine is planned for today, which will start from the Gabriela Mistral Center, pass through the La Moneda Palace and conclude at the Plaza de los Héroes.
The march along La Alameda Avenue is called by the Coordinator for Palestine on the occasion of commemorating October 7, one year since the beginning of the Israeli genocide against that people.
