From August 5, the best Spanish film of 2022, Leon de Aranoa’s tragicomedy “The Good Boss” (El buen patron) will be shown in cinemas in Latvia.
“The Good Boss” by Spanish screenwriter and director Fernando Leon de Aranoa is a comic satirical story about human nature starring the great actor Javier Bardem.
In 2022, the film received the Goya Award – an analogue of the Oscar in Spain. It has been nominated in 20 nominations, winning six, including as the best film of the year, best actor – Javier Bardem, best director – Leon de Aranoa.
The story of the film revolves around Julio Blanco (Javier Bardem) – the owner of a charismatic scales manufacturing company, a successful businessman who treats his employees like family. An important commission is waiting for us to arrive in the small Spanish town, which gives an award for outstanding achievements in business, so everything in the company must be perfect. But as always happens, nothing goes as planned. The problems that the boss has to deal with come one after the other. The family is no longer so obedient and its head is no longer so understanding or tolerant.
