From April, the Czech Post will raise the price of registered letters and postal orders

From April, people will pay 59 crowns for priority recommended writing up to 50 grams, and 57 crowns for valuable writing. Of the postal money orders up to CZK 5,000, B will cost CZK 37 in the written version and CZK 35 in the data version. Component C will increase in price to 53 crowns and D to 112 CZK. The prices of ordinary writing and packages do not change.

The prices of registered and valuable writing and some postal orders have been increased by Česká pošta since the beginning of last year. Since last February, ordinary writing up to 50 grams delivered by the next day costs 26 crowns, ie seven crowns more than before.

The Czech Post operates 3,200 branches and employs around 28,000 people. He expects a loss last year. In 2019, the company deepened its loss by 101 million to a record 376 million crowns. It expected a drop of up to 900 million crowns. According to the post office, higher revenues from parcel delivery, cost savings and fairer state payments for ordered services contributed to the better result compared to the plan.
