From a Romantic Robot to a Harsh Manager: The Evolution of Evgeny Gerasimov

There is no trace left of the former romance.

In the 80s, every Soviet child was familiar with the face of Evgeny Gerasimov. In the cult film “Guest from the Future” he played the robot Werther, whom the audience adored no less than Kolya Gerasimov or Alisa Selezneva. But today the artist is hardly recognized on the street – he changed his career as a film actor to more serious pursuits.

Evgeny Vladimirovich is 72 years old.

He infrequently goes on the theatrical stage, and he abandoned the set a long time ago. In 2022, the man became the artistic director at the Theater of the Moon, replacing Sergei Prokhanov in this post. Also, for more than twenty years, the artist has been a deputy of the Moscow City Duma.

Gerasimov admits that from a young age he always occupied some important positions in any team. While studying at school, the future actor was constantly elected by the headman, and later the tradition continued at the institute. At one time, Evgeny Vladimirovich became the youngest artistic director of the Gorky film studio. Therefore, the transformation of a romantic robot into a harsh manager was only a matter of time.
