A young man named Johny from Kundera Kuttipuram family made his debut in the movie out of mere desire. But the movie didn’t leave Johnny alone. Many rolls were handed to him saying, “Did you catch it today?” Johnny shared his movie memories with Grihalakshmi on one of the last Christmas days

In 1978. At the age of twenty-three, I drove to Madras to appear in the film ‘Nityavasantham’. When you board the Madras mail from Kollam, you can hear songs and beats in the adjacent compartment. Someone said it was a group of filmmakers. I went and looked. I understood only one of the group. Only Bichu Tirumala with a large tape recorder on his lap. Another member of the team is even a newcomer to the film industry. The name of that Thiruvananthapuram man who is going to act in the movie ‘Manjil Virinja Phoolyam’ is Mohanlal. Priyadarshan was with me… The train reached Madras… I went expecting two scenes and returned home after acting in three films. Jonny recounted the sevens of the Madrasi era one by one.
