Dr. Alaa Eid, Head of Preventive Medicine Sector, said that in the framework of keeping Egypt polio-free, it was decided to launch a national campaign for polio vaccination during the period from February 16 to 4 days.
Eid added, in exclusive statements to “Echo of the Country”, that the campaign is free of charge for Egyptian and non-Egyptian children from the age group of one day up to 5 years, pointing out that it must be emphasized that Egypt is free of poliomyelitis and the doses that are given as a precaution and to preserve Egypt’s freedom from poliomyelitis.

The head of the Preventive Medicine sector pointed out that there is sufficient balance for the polio vaccine for the campaign other than the strategic stockpile, pointing out that, with regard to other grafts, there is a balance of up to a year and a half.
Eid emphasized that the campaign will be launched in all governorates through fixed teams in units and health centers or through mobile points in stations and gathering places, noting that rural areas will be provided with teams from house to house to ensure access to all the targeted groups of the campaign.
