/ world today news/ “The vote on the new debt showed the division between the ruling party and the opposition in the National Assembly. The quadruple coalition formed at the beginning has now become a five-party coalition”.
This was stated by the People’s Representative from the Parliamentary Group of BSP Left Bulgaria and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Yanaki Stoilov in the morning block of BNT. He added that in addition to political, this coalition also has a financial and economic format. According to him, the important decisions are supported by GERB, the Reform Bloc and the DPS, and for others the official format of the coalition is used.
“If the previous government can justifiably be said to have had many shortcomings, I wonder if the current one has any qualities at all,” comments Stoilov. He emphasized that the loudly announced ideas for reforms remain, at least for now, only promises. “From the BGN 8 billion debt foreseen in the 2015 budget, somehow they imperceptibly increased to BGN 8 billion, but in euros,” he added. According to him, this is precisely where the hidden questions lie, because almost everyone admits, apart from the proponents of the proposal, that several billions remain hidden and their purpose is unknown. “If you look at the repayments that Bulgaria has on debts, they are much lower and, on top of that, they are part of the repayment of obligations taken under the previous government of GERB”, specified the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
Stoilov stated that during the “beaten” second reading of the ratification bill, BSP Left Bulgaria had a proposal to actually reduce the funds, but they were not even put to a vote. According to him, the announced cost reduction of 2 billion leva is “just an alibi” to justify last-minute support. The national representative commented that the hidden funds are most likely for the rehabilitation program, for new planes, for the military budget, at a time when money should be given for social development.
The socialist drew attention to the fact that the only absentee in the plenary hall was Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. “But this debt is his. It is not only his office’s”, added Yanaki Stoilov. According to him, the BSP is not worried that it is of the same opinion as Ataka. “There is no merging of the two positions, but raising common questions,” he said. Stoilov is categorical that for the BSP the most important question is not with whom it will cooperate and interact, but how to restore the trust of those people who want Bulgaria to be different and to be governed in a different way.
Stoilov is of the opinion that there can be other types of arguments, outside of the political ones, that if this parliament is shaken, some of the parties will disappear altogether. “One of them already has several TPPs. It no longer has voters. Another one, which was on the left, now how will it explain that there is no money in these 16 billion for “Belene”, “South Stream” and energy helmets” , he explained.
The People’s Representative drew attention to the fact that these 16 billion BGN are only the funds without interest that will be paid. “And if at the end of the 1990s it was said that Bulgaria was almost bankrupt because it had about 10 billion dollars of debt, now only the state debt is twice as large. Already with this new obligation, if Bulgaria has to paid out, for one year, is equal to its annual budget,” noted Stoilov.
