Last week, Grégory Doucet took the decision to requisition the strikers from the technical directorate of buildings.
But heating has not yet returned to all municipal schools and kindergartens. However, the vast majority are concerned, the city of Lyon has informed the parents of pupils that 70% of schools and 80% of kindergartens are once again benefiting from correct temperatures. We recall that at the beginning of the school year last week, the absence of heating during the holidays had plunged the classes into freezing temperatures: 12°C on average!
“The activity will continue in the coming days, giving priority to facilities that welcome children”, specifies the communicated note. The goal is to have 100% heated buildings by next week.
Grégory Doucet’s teams, who left this week for Barcelona, met again on Monday morning with representatives of the striking heating technicians. “Right now we are moving towards an exit from the social movement”provides for the text given to the parents.
The strikers led by the CGT denounced the shortage of personnel in the technical building management service of the city of Lyon and demanded “an increase in their fixed allowance for hardship and skill, the only way to make these jobs attractive”.
