From 38,600 euros – Toyota Camry Hybrid 230 now also in Latvia! (+ PHOTO)

The flagship Toyota, which has a new exterior design and a modern interior, has arrived in Latvia and is already being offered for test drives.

The new Camry Hybrid 230 is now available with the latest hybrid drive technology for higher performance, greater efficiency and a truly exciting drive. A new multimedia system and digital instrument panel take care of next-level connectivity and even faster response. Also standard on the Camry is the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense with a comprehensive package of safety and driver assistance systems.

The redesigned Camry image has been given a more contemporary and bold look at Toyota’s CALTY design studio in the US. The most important changes can be seen on the front, which is shaped like a hammerhead shark. Toyota’s new design language is implemented here, and these principles are also brought to life in the latest versions of the Prius and C-HR models.

Fifth generation hybrid technology

The Camry Hybrid 230 is the latest model to enjoy the performance, driving pleasure and efficiency of Toyota’s fifth generation hybrid technology.

The new hybrid system includes a more powerful lithium-ion battery and the renowned 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. The total system output has increased by 6% to 230 DIN PS / 169 kW thanks to the updates, while fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have decreased to 4.8 l / 100 km and 109 g / km (WLTP combined cycle) respectively.

Thanks to the new hybrid engine, the acceleration of the Toyota Camry Hybrid 230 is faster, smoother and with a response that is easier to control, almost immediately, which is strongly revealed at the start. The time required to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h is reduced from 8.3 to 7.2 seconds.

Multimedia system and digital technologies

The new Camry is equipped with the latest generation Toyota Smart Connect + multimedia system and a 12.3-inch touch screen. A smartphone can be integrated into the multimedia environment using the wireless connection Apple CarPlay and Android Auto or one of the five USB ports, which can also be used to charge smart devices. The Camry also comes standard with a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Toyota Teammate safety systems and driver assistance

Camry is also offered with the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense safety system system. Their extended range allows the car to see even more vehicles, other road users and objects on the road. Therefore, support from the pre-collision system (Pre-Collsion Assist – PCS) for the driver in city traffic is even more effective.

New to the range of Camry safety systems is Emergency Steering Assist. It is a system that brakes gently and steers easily if it senses a vehicle parked on the side of the road or a pedestrian walking, who needs to pass at a safe distance. The Camry will not leave its lane during this move.

Another addition in the area of ​​safety is the advanced adaptive cruise control (Dynamic Radar Cruise Control – DRCC). Together with the turn signals, the system provides the first impulse of acceleration as soon as the driver turns the turn signal and is about to start overtaking. Also, DRCC senses that a vehicle is cutting off the road faster, so the Camry brakes more smoothly. But the advanced lane recognition assistant adjusts the speed better before the turn. So, even on a winding road, the new Camry drives​​​​​​​​more smoothly and comfortably.

The Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) has also been added to the new safety and driver assistance functions. It works when Lane Trace Assist is activated. If the driver has not been driving and pressing the accelerator or brake pedal for a long time, EDSS draws attention with acoustic and visual warning signals. If the driver does not respond to them, the system smoothly reduces the speed, stops the car and turns on the emergency lights.

The new Toyota Camry is already available in salons of brand representatives, and the starting price of the model in Latvia is 38,600 euros.
