‘From 2022 only 5G iPhones’

Apple will only release 5G-enabled iPhones from next year, according to insiders. The new iPhone SE will also not arrive until 2022, while the iPhone Mini will not get an update for the time being.

Apple will start selling a 5G version of iPhone SE in the first half of 2022. This budget iPhone will be equipped with the A14 or A15 processor and Qualcomm’s X60 modem chips, report insiders. The design and specifications will be similar to the existing iPhone SE: a 4.7-inch device, derived from the iPhone 8, but with 5G and an improved processor.

According to the insiders, Apple is also working on an updated version of the iPhone 11, with a 6 or 6.1 inch LCD screen, Face ID support, 5G and an improved A-series chip. Perhaps this is the iPhone SE Plus. This iPhone 11 upgrade comes with a price tag of less than $600 ($510) and can be sold alongside the iPhone SE as a low-cost option. However, this device is not expected until 2023.

The iPhone Mini will not receive an update for the time being: its sales are far behind expectations. Start this year warned Apple CEO Tim Cook says the EU is lagging far behind China and the US with the rollout of 5G. It is not yet clear whether this backlog has been eliminated in time.
