At the same time, all those in possession of a television set find themselves having to deal with the payment of the Rai license fee. Compulsory tax in all respects, with the payment being made through direct debit in bill, shortly we could see some important changes in terms of payment methods. As is known, the RAI fee, the amount of which is equal to 90 euros per year, has been paid since 2016 through thedirect debit on the electricity bill in monthly installments. A decision that was taken in order to prevent many taxpayers from not paying the tax in question. From 2016, therefore, all Italians find themselves having to deal with a higher bill. Starting from January 1, 2022, however, there could be an important change, namely thegoodbye to the charge on the rent bill.

This could occur as a result of Italy’s commitment to Europe within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, or PNRR, with a view to greater transparency towards consumers. At the moment, we emphasize, the charge for the fee remains in the bill, but from 2022 things could change. This change, on the other hand, will not be implemented immediately, as the government will have to first evaluate how to return to collect the tax in question. All that remains is to wait and see what the next executive decisions will be.
