Frisk Asker must remove child tickets after fraud

Frisk Asker offered children under the age of three free tickets to the hockey matches. Now there will be changes after the club has revealed that people have cheated.

TROUBLE: Frisk Asker cheers here for scoring against Vålerenga in February in the new Varner Arena. Recently, the Asker club has revealed cheating with tickets.

– It is as low a goal as it can get, that you should fool yourself into tickets. It is rotten done. We work what we can to fill up our fantastic, new arena. Then there are such rotten apples. I get a little cursed, says Nicolay Sørensen, general manager of Frisk Asker.

The club offers the following ticket prices in their mobile app:

  • 0-3 years: Free
  • 3–16 years: NOK 70
  • 16 years and up: 200 kroner

Now the club has found itself forced to remove the offer of free children’s tickets in the app after hundreds of adults have cheated in for free, according to the club. Those who want tickets for the youngest must now clarify this via email.

– We discovered that suddenly there were a lot of babies in Asker. It was a person who had ordered tickets for 19 babies last match and for 16 babies the match before, says Nicolaysen.

NEW HALL: Varner Arena in Asker takes 3650 spectators.

– We live on ticket revenues. That people will sneak in like that is just sad. One thing is that they deceive us, but they also ruin for those who have young children.

– Could you have done more to control this?

– It is something you should be able to intercept in the ticket control, but that is not the case for me. The thing for me is that someone has gone in and cheated the system and scammed into tickets. But we will of course go through our routines, Nicolaysen answers.

After many restrictions related to the pandemic, he is happy to have the audience back in the halls. With the new Varner Arena, the average has increased from 1130 to 2300 spectators.

Frisk Asker is below 2-3 in matches for Sparta in the quarterfinals of the NC finals. On Wednesday, a new match awaits them, and Frisk Asker has to win.

In the other quarter finals, Lillehammer leads 3-2 over Stjernen, while Storhamar has the upper hand with 3-2 over Vålerenga. Stavanger Oilers are semi-final-ready after victory over Ringerike.
