National coach Ronald Koeman will not be able to call on Jeremie Frimpong in the Nations League match against Germany. The right wing defender had to leave the training camp of the Dutch national team due to private circumstances.
Frimpong was still on the bench in the won Nations League match against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday. Koeman did not give the six-time international any playing time. That will not happen again on Tuesday, because Frimpong will have to miss the meeting with Germany. Private circumstances prevent the Bayer Leverkusen player from meeting a large number of acquaintances.
Koeman has decided not to call up a replacement for Frimpong. Denzel Dumfries, who started against Bosnia-Herzegovina, is the only remaining right back in the selection of the Dutch national team. Jurriën Timber and Lutsharel Geertruida can also play in that position. The match against Germany will be played on Tuesday in the Johan Cruijff Arena and starts at 20:45.
At the European Championship, Koeman used Frimpong against France as a right winger. For that position, he can now choose from Xavi Simons (who started against Bosnia-Herzegovina), Donyell Malen and Justin Kluivert.
