Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The ability of the Indonesian defense industry needs to be appreciated, one of which is the ability to make Tank Boat which is named ‘Antasena’ which is taken from the name of a puppet character.
Tank Boat is a program of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense implemented by a consortium in which PT Pindad (Persero) is the lead integrator in collaboration with PT Lundin Industry Invest, PT Len Industri (Persero), and PT Hariff.
PT Pindad (Persero) has completed a series of Antasena Tank Boat tests for further use by the Indonesian Navy. This Indonesian tank boat is part of the Defense Ministry’s Main Equipment Armament System (Alutsista) fulfillment program.
This Antasena Tank Boat has passed a series of weapons and sea cruising tests to see the capability and feasibility of a Tank Boat.
“The trial begins with the Sea Trial from the Banyuwangi pier to the waters of Paiton, East Java. The tank boat then carries out a Firing Test using the main weapon of the 30 mm cannon at the TNI AL Paiton shooting range,” quoted in a statement from PT Pindad (Persero), Monday (24 / 5).

This testing activity was witnessed by the Director General of Pothan Kemhan, Major General TNI Dadang Hendrayudha, Dirtekindhan of the Directorate General of Pothan, Laksma TNI Sri Yanto, President Director of PT Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose, Director of Technology & Development of PT Pindad (Persero), Ade Bagdja and accompanied by the Director of the Consortium other.
After the shooting, the Tank Boat continued the Sea Trial activity by returning to the Banyuwangi pier on Saturday, 22 May 2021. The total distance traveled by this activity was 170 Nautical miles.
The tank boat can carry 60 personnel and 5 crew, has a maximum speed of 40 knots and a cruising range of up to 600 Nautical miles. The main gun is equipped with a 30 mm caliber RCWS gun and 2 12.7 mm machine guns.
Tank Boat is ready to protect the sovereignty and defend the territorial waters of the Republic of Indonesia. Tank boats are expected to support the TNI in carrying out swamp, sea, river and coastal operations (Ralasuntai) as well as sea and coast guard duties (Sea and Coast Guard).
