This story has certainly baffled the family who lived it, shocked by the not exactly welcome surprise. As known, the king cobra is precisely among the most venomous snakes in the worldso as to be able to kill an elephant in a few minutes, and can reach truly remarkable lengths.

It is in fact the poisonous snake longest in the world, with lengths that can reach five meters in some cases, but this is not the case. The one found by the owners of this house, who are there anyway frightened and not a little for this certainly unconventional close encounter, it was only one meter and twenty centimeters long. We are in the province of Saraburi, in Thailanddove l’Ophiophagus hannahthis is the scientific name of the snake, which however does not belong to the cobra family, yes refugee in a private home.

Lo bewilderment at the discovery of the reptile it was really great: a housewife heard hers we are silent as he exited the bath together with just two year old son. She walked towards the kitchen and when she realized she could hide a reptilehe alerted his husbandasking him to call i rescuers, so that the teams prepared to recover reptiles and wild animals intervened promptly. “I heard my wife screaming and she told me to call 911 immediately,” explained the 28-year-old man.
He then continued the father of the family: “We all left the house to avoid scaring the snake”, when the rescue teams arrived, they took little time to spot the reptile. This was hidden behind the refrigeratorbut what worried them too was the recognition that it was a specimen of a king cobra, although fortunately not large in size.
Help arrives and everything ends in the right direction
Rescue teams used a pole with a hook to lure it away from the refrigerator, but the snake quickly slipped away. He hid behind a box before being blocked by one of the volunteers: the whole thing lasted about ten minutes, during which the owners of the house with their little son moved away, leaving free field for rescuers. The snake was then bagged and taken outside, then released to a safe area.
From the homeowner, it has arrived a heartfelt thanks to the rescuers, for having intervened promptly, also avoiding that his family members could be frightened. “He did not attack my family and remained hidden” – recalled the father of the family – “The rescuers did a great job”. Apparently, the king cobra entered the house from a door left open, to seek refreshment. Sometimes it happens that reptiles hide in absurd places looking for refreshment, including in homes, in fact. A few weeks ago, in India, it had been an albino cobra taking refuge in the bedroom of a private house.
