Frightening! Becoming the car king of RI, this little one kicks off the Avanza

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The competition for Indonesia’s best-selling car is heating up after the Honda Brio managed to top sales in November 2022 with 7,102 units.

This result allowed Brio to be in first place consecutively after in the previous month, October 2022, which also recorded a similar result, its sales soared from 5,601 units.

Meanwhile, its competitor, the Toyota Avanza, is only in the seventh best-selling car for November 2022 selling 3,859 units.

This figure is far below October 2022 which saw sales of 4,958 units. At that time, the car of a million people ranked third best-selling car.

Avanza’s competitor in the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment, the Mitsubishi Xpander, is a stripe better in sixth place. This Mitsubishi champion car had sales of 3,867 units or just 8 different units from the Avanza last November.

The second best-selling car in November 2022 was the Daihatsu Sigra with 6,830 units sold.

In third and fourth position are the compacts of the commercial segment, namely the Suzuki Carry Pick-up with 4,944 units and the Daihatsu Gran Max Pick-up sold 4,925 units. Toyota Rush is in fifth position selling 4,492 units.

Interestingly, there is no Hyundai Stargazer name in the lineup of best-selling cars, not even capable of entering the top 20.

Indeed, this car is expected to be one of the competitors of the Toyota Avanza-Mitsubishi Xpander. Stargazer sales last month were just 827 units.

The largest contributor was the Stargazer Prime 6-seat which sold 382 units, followed by the Stargazer Prime 7-seat which sold 179 units. Some types also only sold single digits, for example Stargazer Active MT with 1 unit and Stargazer Trend MT 6 Seat with 4 units.
