The Friends of Art are venturing into the year 2021 with a new program of events. Of course, the cultural events have to be marked with a question mark due to the corona. The duo Vielharmonie (tuba / piano) is scheduled to perform in the music hall of the Ortenburg high school on May 12th at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the box office for 12, reduced 6 euros. The film “My life with Amanda” is planned for Monday, April 12th at 8 pm in the Pösl cinema center. Constanze Lindner will be performing with her cabaret “Miss Understanding” on April 24th at 8 pm in the Schwarzachtalhalle. The cards cost 18/9 euros. The performance of the Fracanapa – Tangofestival duo is planned for May 2nd at 6 p.m. in the Evangelical Church of the Resurrection. Tickets for 12/6 euros can be purchased at the box office. On May 7th at 8 p.m. there will be a reading with music. Maximilian Mangold plays the guitar, Stefan Müller-Ruppert acts as the speaker. “From Prater and Roaster” is the headline of the program in which a literary-musical Viennese melange with stories, songs and music from the Danube metropolis is offered. The venue has not yet been determined. The organizers have an eye on the Thammersaal in Winklarn, the vaulted hall in the Centrum Bavaria Bohemia Schönsee or the Oberviechtach parish hall. The cards cost 12/6 euros.

For their 30th anniversary, the Friends of Art are putting the focus on cultural life in Oberviechtach

The Protestant Church of the Resurrection is again a performance location on July 3rd for the Duo Revelio with flute and guitar. The program features sonatas, sambas and tangos. Tickets are available at the box office for 12/6 euros. In September (17th or 18th) Johannes Kirchberger will be performing in the region with his cabaret at 8 p.m. Where is not clear yet. On October 1st, Andreas Büttner from the Würzburg theater ensemble will be offering a theatrical parody of the movie “Casablanca”. Here, too, the location of the performance is still open. On Saturday, November 13th, at 7.30 pm, the Czechoslovak Chamber Duo (violin, piano) will perform in the music hall of the Ortenburg High School. “Anton Dvorak and Friends” is the headline of the program, for which the tickets for 12/6 euros are available at the box office. The planned annual program of the Friends of Art ends with the traditional autumn film evening “The Divine Other” at 8 pm in the Pösl cinema center.

The chairwoman Monika Krauss and her board members look confidently into the new year and hope that the events can take place in order to make the main concern of the association, to bring culture to the region, visible and audible. As long as the hygiene measures apply due to the corona pandemic, prior registration by e-mail (Arwid.Krauss[at]t-online[dot]de) with details of name, address and telephone number is necessary. More detailed information on the events is available on the homepage http://freundederkunst.bplaced.net/ refer to.

Two major events are missing

  • Two large formats – a picture exhibition for the 30th anniversary of the association, as well as the large cultural festival, both of which were planned for March 2020 – are not included in the program planning. As the people in charge of the association say, these events require immense effort in preparation, so that they can only be implemented with absolute planning security.
  • The exhibition of paintings should reflect the artists from the region. Rosa Beer, Robert Bergschneider, Horst Bittner, Matthias Dietz, Katharina Gierlach, Heiko Herrmann, Jan Patocka, Vassili Plotnikow, Wolfgang Pöhlmann, Maria Schießl, Natalia Schwarz, Thea Schwärzler and Alfred Tragl wanted to represent the wide range of local artists.
  • The big cultural festival should be about an overview of the diverse cultural life in Oberviechtach. Numerous clubs and groups in the area wanted to make this evening with outstanding contributions. (wel)
