‘The largest pub in the Netherlands’, as the party is often referred to, has now been moved to January 2022. “As we get closer to January and the current Covid-19 developments show little improvement, we have to be realistic,” says Thom Ligthart, marketing manager at Amstel.
“It is not wise to bring together almost 150,000 visitors. The health of visitors, artists and everyone in front of and behind the scenes is always the most important thing. “Ligthart calls canceling a ‘difficult, but inevitable decision’.
The cards intended for next January remain valid. They now provide access for the 2022 edition. People can also request a refund, the organization says. The rescheduled edition of De Vrienden van Amstel Live is now scheduled from 13 to 22 January 2022.
