Jakarta, CNNI Indonesia —
The Argentina captain showed a different attitude Lionel Messi after defeating Croatia in the semifinal World Cup 2022 with a score of 3-0 on Tuesday (13/12).
He seemed friendly and wanted to shake hands with Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic. This can be seen in a video clip showing Messi about to conduct an interview session broadcast by TyC Sports after the match between Argentina and Croatia at Lusail Stadium, Qatar.
In the video it can be seen that the meeting between Messi and Dalic lasted only a few seconds. After the handshake, Messi immediately returned to continue his interview.
But Dalic had time to wish Messi good luck in the 2022 World Cup final. “Good luck,” Dalic said to Messi as he shook hands.
Pulga has seen no similar attitude towards Dutch coach Louis van Gaal after Argentina beat De Oranje in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup on penalties.
Messi’s warm attitude towards opposing coaches was not seen in the Holland-Argentina match. At the end of the match, Messi was seen stuttering towards Van Gaal.
Messi had a fight with Van Gaal and he seemed to be saying something. The collector of seven Ballon d’Ors is suspected to have approached the Dutch trainer because he was not happy with his comments before the match.
In the press conference session, Van Gaal said he would try to kill Messi. It’s just that the speech was not demonstrated because Messi looked really good in this match.
Pulga also had to be calmed down by Dutch assistant coach, Edgar Davids. After that Messi was pulled by his teammate, Angel Di Maria to stop his confrontation with Van Gaal.
Messi remains hopeful of handing the world title to Argentina to this day after frustrating Croatia’s resistance at the semi-final stage.
Subsequently, Argentina will face the winner of the France-Morocco match which will be played on Thursday (15/12) in the morning WIB.
