A sector police chief (police chief) in Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) was released because he was suspected of sending an intimate message to the child of a suspect.
The head of the regional unit, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently being investigated by the Central Sulawesi Police’s Profession and Security Division (Propam).
“Yes, it is true that he was released for further investigation and examination of the police chief in question,” said Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police Kombes Didik Suprianto when confirmed, Friday (15/10).
The investigation, he said, was carried out on the back of one of the local media reports which received a confession from the alleged victim in the matter.
Referring to reports investigated by Propam, the victim with the initial S admitted that he had been promised that his father, who is a suspect, would be released if he fulfilled the wishes of the Sector Police Chief.
However, Didik has not been able to explain in more detail about the examination material or the truth of the incident. He said that the investigation process was ongoing until now.
“To check the truth of the news, the Central Sulawesi Regional Police’s internal team has gone to the field,” he explained.
