Sam Asghari, Britney Spears’ boyfriend, has opposite People responded to the reactions to the documentary about his girlfriend that was released last weekend. This discusses, among other things, the curatorship that Spears’ father has over his daughter. In his response, Asghari says that he fully supports the singer.
“I’ve always wanted the very best for her and will continue to support her in following her dreams and creating a future she wants and deserves,” said Asghari.
Documentary Framing Britney Spears examines the ever-increasing popularity of the singer, but also the associated (negative) media attention that came with this. This eventually led to a slump in 2008, after which Spears went into receivership.
Her father Jamie has since controlled her finances as well as various private affairs. However, the singer demands that the curatorship be taken over by another party. Her fans support her in this through the #FreeBritney movement.
Asghari thanks his girlfriend’s fans. “I am grateful for all the love and support she is getting from her fans and look forward to having a normal and great future with Britney.”
