“Friedrichshafen will have a hard time” – Berlin.de

The BR Volleys are still missing one victory. In the final series of the German volleyball championship, the Berlin men lead 2-0, with another success on Thursday (6 p.m. / Sport1) at VfB Friedrichshafen, the new triumph for the capital city club would be sealed. But manager Kaweh Niroomand warned that slacking off “can be eye-catching”. Should Friedrichshafen win the home game, there would be a fourth game on Sunday in Berlin.

Berlin’s Samuel Tuia, Julian Zenger, Benjamin Patch, Sergey Grankin and Anton Brehme cheer.

Volleys head coach Cedric Enard doesn’t want to come to a head: “I don’t want to hear that we now have three games to win this title. We want to pack it on Thursday. ” Despite the good starting position, Niroomand also warned: “We still have to be aware that we have a strong and very dangerous opponent in front of us who has nothing more to lose.”

Since 2013, the BR Volleys and Friedrichshafen have been fighting for the national championship in the finals. In the seven final series since then, the Berliners have been successful six times, only in 2015 Friedrichshafen won.

Volleys captain Sergej Grankin is convinced that he will win the title again after the season was canceled without a championship decision last season due to the effects of the corona. «We played really well at home. If we can do that again away from home, VfB will have a hard time against us, ”said the Russian setter.

Friedrichshafen, with 13 titles still German record champions, has his back to the wall. “The good thing, however, is that it can only go in one direction from the wall – forward,” said VfB coach Michael Warm and announced a big fight for the Berliners: “We will fight until we drop. The thing is definitely not over yet. ”
