Friday to 35 degrees: ‘Perhaps the hottest day of the year …

The temperatures in our country will rise again from today with a peak on Friday: the mercury will rise to no less than 35 degrees. “Perhaps the hottest day of the year,” says weatherman Frank Deboosere on Radio 1.

In most regions there were Wednesday morning wide clearances. During the day there is gradually an alternation of sun and cumulus clouds, but on the coast it often remains sunny. At the end of the afternoon it is mostly sunny again everywhere. The maximums are around 19 to 20 degrees by the sea, between 20 and 22 degrees in the Ardennes and between 22 and 24 degrees elsewhere, the RMI reports. In the evening and at night it becomes clear to slightly cloudy. The minimums are between 6 degrees in the High Fens and 12 or 13 degrees in the big cities.

Thursday it will be sunny and already quite warm with maximums of 23 to 28 degrees. The wind blows mainly weak from changeable or southeastern directions. A sea breeze can form on the coast in the afternoon.

Friday is a very warm and sunny day. The mercury climbs to 29 in the Ardennes, 32 to 33 degrees in the center and possibly up to 35 degrees in the Kempen. In the evening there may be some more (high) clouds over the west of the country. Friday night the chance of a thunderstorm increases.

Saturday there is a chance of local showers, possibly with thunder. It gets less hot. The maxima are between 23 degrees at the sea, around 27 degrees in the center to 31-32 degrees in Belgian Lorraine.

Sunday it becomes variable to sometimes cloudy with some local showers. On the coast, the RMI expects broad clearances. Maximums of 20 degrees by the sea to 25 degrees in the Kempen.

Monday it becomes hit and miss with a chance of a shower, at maximums between 19 and 23 degrees. On Tuesday, a rain zone can pass through our country from the west. The maxima then fluctuate around 20 or 21 degrees in the center.
