This Friday, September 6, the Necochea Cultural Center will kick off the 16th season of the “Fridays of Cinema” series with a night full of action and excitement. The event will feature a special screening of an Irish thriller, starring Liam Neeson and accompanied by a selection of international short films.

20.30 hs: IN THE LAND OF SAINTS AND SINNERS (Ireland, 2023)
Directed by Robert Lorenz, this film set in Ireland in 1974 follows Finbar Murphy, a former hitman who leads a quiet life in the small town of Glen Colm Cille. His peace is disturbed when a group of terrorists led by the ruthless Doireann arrive in the town, putting Finbar in a dangerous dilemma between revealing his past or protecting his community.
The film, which premiered at the 2023 Venice Film Festival, combines action, drama and suspense, standing out for its stunning Irish landscapes and Lorenz’s ability to capture the essence of a country caught in political violence.
