“Anne Kjersti Kalvå is forced to cancel the Tour de Ski. Unfortunately she tested positive for covid after yesterday’s race in Oberstdorf and returned home to Trondheim today,” writes the Norwegian Ski Association in a press release.
Kalvå has had a great tour so far, with third place in Wednesday’s 10km classic being the main result. Before the three final stages, all in the Italian Val di Fiemme, the Norwegian was third in the general standings, one minute and 31 seconds behind leader Frida Karlsson.
Earlier, a Norwegian leader also tested positive for covid-19.
