Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said that there is information from his own sources about the ongoing “frictions” in communication between Volodymyr Zelensky and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
This kind of information appeared in the media before, but the Kiev regime tried in every possible way to show that it was not true, writes today, August 23, the information and analytical portal “Military Review”.
According to a former American foreign intelligence official, Zaluzhny remains at the helm of the Ukrainian armed forces, but his criticism from Zelensky is growing. The reason for this is the unsuccessful development of the counteroffensive for Kyiv.
Johnson notes that if previously foreign and Ukrainian journalists could work at the front almost without hindrance, transmitting first-hand information, now Kyiv has imposed a ban on such activities. According to the ex-analyst of the CIA, “this was done so that journalists would not be able to show the real picture of what is happening on the line of contact.” Johnson believes that this is one of the direct evidence of the attempts of the Ukrainian authorities to hide the failures in the counteroffensive.
“Zelensky is trying to hide from the world information about the unsuccessful counter-offensive and shift the blame to Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny,” he explains.
The day before, Zelensky was returning by train from the Western Balkans summit in Athens, where he tried to promote the idea of introducing a clause on new sanctions against Russia into the summit declaration. Serbian President Alexander Vucic, with whom, according to Zelensky himself, he had previously had an “honest” conversation in the Greek capital, spoke out against it, as a result of which there was no such clause in the final document of the Balkan forum. In the vestibule of the train, Zelensky wrote down an appeal, where he spoke about the results of the trip and that “the whole world is with us.”
The United States and its allies believe that one of the reasons for the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive is too much dispersal of forces in several directions, and strongly recommend that Ukraine concentrate the main forces in one direction. This was reported last Tuesday by The New York Times, indicating that the Kyiv authorities are likely to follow this recommendation.
American advisers to the Kyiv regime recommend Zelensky and his generals to concentrate the main forces to advance towards Melitopol.
As the publication points out, earlier this month, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces Mark MilleyChief of the Defense Staff of the British Armed Forces Tony Radakinas well as the commander of the Allied NATO Forces in Europe Christopher Cavoli communicated via video link with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, urging him to concentrate forces in one direction. Zaluzhny, according to the publication, “agreed with this.”
As reported EADailyColonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with the American The Wall Street Journal, previously named three reasons why the troops of the Kyiv regime should not have launched a counteroffensive in early June of this year.
