Laws aren’t his thing, at Youssouf*. And he dangerously demonstrated it on June 13th. Around 3:30 a.m., bikers from the Friborg police began to follow him, while he was driving his Suzuki Swift. As soon as he noticed it, this 39-year-old Frenchman crushed the mushroom to try to sow them. A high-speed chase then began in the streets of Marly (FR). Finally, the police managed to pass him to cut him off and the madman stopped.
The police then discovered that his plates actually corresponded to an Opel Corsa. As for the Suzuki, it had never been registered and it was not covered by any insurance. During his audition, Youssouf nevertheless admitted that he had been riding with it every day for several weeks. But the worst was yet to come. A blood test revealed a level of THC (the active principle of cannabis) more than ten times higher than the tolerance limit. He would also have acquired and consumed between 1.6 and 3.3 kg of marijuana in the three years preceding his arrest.
For all of his work, he has just been fined 2,500 francs, as well as day-fines for a total amount of 7,200 francs. If the reprieve was not granted to him, it is because Youssouf had already been sentenced by the Geneva authorities, in March 2021, for driving a car without a license. “Under these conditions, only an unfavorable prognosis for the future should be made,” said the Friborg public prosecutor.
