Friberg and Tre Kronor still winning in Karjala cup

Max Friberg and Tre Kronor beat Switzerland 3-2 after extra time in the Karjala Cup.

Jonathan Dahlén scored both his first and second international goals as Tre Kronor defeated Switzerland in the Karjala tournament 3–2.

Dahlén was the winner in extra time and ensured Sweden won the tournament.

The winning goal came in numerical superiority after 1.05 of added time.

Then the Timrå striker had scored his first international goal when he scored the 2-1 goal in the third period.

The victory means Tre Kronor leads the tournament in Karjala ahead of the last of today’s games, where the Swedes finish off against Finland on Sunday.

Sam Hallam had rotated the lineup and the five players who didn’t get ice time in the first game, a 4-1 win over the Czech Republic, started in the second.

André Petersson also scored for Sveirge in the match against Switzerland.

Objective success

Goalkeepers Joel Lassinanti, Luleå, replace Marcus Högberg, Linköping, and at the back, vilades eg Jonathan Pudas, Skellefteå, for another attacking team, Joel Persson, Växjö.

Two more players made their debuts, Rögle striker Ludvig Larsson and Växjö full-back Hardy Häman Aktell.

In the victory over the Czech Republic, Hallam was unhappy with his side’s limited time in the frontcourt.

There’s been a big improvement there, at least initially.

Sweden parked in the Swiss zone in the first half and were rewarded early, with HV striker André Petersson continuing his scoring success.

After a hat-trick against the Czech Republic, he headed Pär Lindholm’s perfect pass to make it 1-0.

But that was all.

Switzerland has taken over

Switzerland took over in the second half, also thanks to two Swedish expulsions, and the equalizer came precisely in numerical superiority.

The Swiss stayed in the Swedish zone and tired their opponents, who couldn’t change for just over a minute. In the end, Damien Riat got a great position in the shooting sector and scored the equalizer behind Lassinantti.

Jonathan Dahlén gave Sweden a 2-1 lead after 7.33 into the third period with his first international goal since team captain Linus Johansson was first robbed by Swiss goalkeeper Sandro Aeschlimann in an excellent situation.

But the Swiss came back, pressed for an equaliser, and defender Patrick Geering equalized after 13.35.
