After a successful start to the season with three wins in four matches and fifth place in the 2nd Bundesliga South, TSV has home advantage at the weekend. On Saturday (4:30 p.m.) TSV Freystadt welcomes SV Fun-Ball Dortelweil II (Bad Vilbel) and on Sunday BC Remagen will be guests in the sports hall of the Willibald-Gluck-Gymnasium from 2:30 p.m.
TSV team manager Stephan Pistorius: “So far our plan to incorporate a number of young players into the team has worked.” The new additions Moritz Miller (20 years old) and Jannik Czerny (19 years old) have been able to impress in their games so far and have played a part at the successful start of the season. Both are also part of the squad at the weekend.
Hudekar celebrates his premiere at TSV Freystadt
Siddesh Hudekar (24 years old), the third newcomer, will play for TSV for the first time. He is Indian, comes from Mumbai and studies in Amberg/Weiden. Pistorius is happy to have a strong alternative in him.
For the first time this season, Croatian international Filip Spoljarec will be in the lineup and Andreas Pistorius is delighted to have his long-time doubles partner back. Spoljarec represents Viktor Petrovic, who is playing an international tournament in Prague at the same time. He will most likely be missed by TSV.

Ella Neve is also registered in Prague. Nevertheless, TSV is hoping that the Neumarkt resident will be back in time for the start of the game on Saturday. It’s pleasing that Aurelia Wulandoko is picking up the bat again for Freystadt for the first time this season. The youth national player was on international duty at the first Bundesliga games in Bulgaria and Belgium (doubles semi-finals). Katharina Rudert, who is scheduled to play again in doubles and mixed doubles, is also there.
Freystadt does not see itself as being favored
In Saturday’s game against SV Fun-Ball Dortelweil II, TSV Freystadt does not see itself as the favorite, even if the reserves of the reigning German champions were only able to leave the court victorious in the win against fellow championship favorites TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg. The Hessians are a kind of feared enemy of the people of Freystadt.
In the TSV championship year 23/24, the Upper Palatinate team suffered a 3:4 defeat in both the first and second half of the season. The Hessians are very evenly staffed in all positions, especially in the men’s division. There are two youth national players on the team, Danial Marzuan and Mark Niemann, who played at the World Cup in China last week. Top performers among the women are the multiple German junior champion Theresa Wurm and Emma Moszczynki.
On Sunday Freystadt welcomes BV Remagen. The Rhinelanders got off to an unfortunate start to the season and will do everything they can to take points from Neumarkt. The team is very experienced. It will be interesting to see whether they will compete with their new signing, ex-national player and multiple German junior champion Lukas Resch. Provided Remagen plays with the best line-up – with their number 1 Lukas Resch, with their Indonesian newcomer Akash Alok and Ronja Stern (national player from Switzerland) – then it could be very difficult for Freystadt to score.
According to the team management, Freystädter’s chances of success for the weekend are quite good. The form on the day will determine whether it is enough to win two. Despite the parallel games of the badminton teams at district and state level, TSV Freystadt hopes that many spectators will find their way to the WGG sports hall, Woffenbacher Straße 33.
The entrance fee is still 4 euros, and entry is free for students up to 14 years of age.
