When exercising or doing strenuous physical activity, but suddenly wet the bed? Do not ignore this, it could be a sign of weak pelvic floor muscles.
Doctor Ira Mistivani, SpKFR(K), Medical Staff of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, explained that normally a person will not wet the bed when doing strenuous physical activities, such as lifting weights. This can be a sign of weakness in the pelvic floor muscles.

Furthermore, Dr. Ira explained that when a person undergoes strenuous activities or strenuous exercise, especially lifting weights, it can put pressure on the stomach. In healthy people, this pressure will not cause bedwetting.
“Actually if we lift heavy it is a sign that there is pressure in the abdominal area [perut] We are quite heavy,” he explained.
If a person has weak pelvic muscles, the heavy pressure can cause bedwetting.

According to Dr. Ira, one should start to be aware of experiencing weakness in the basic muscles of the stage, if they often wet the bed when coughing, sneezing or even laughing out loud.
“If a person coughs, sneezes, laughs or jumps and then wets the bed, it is a sign that he has weakness in the pelvic floor muscles,” said Dr. Ira.
