Frequency “definitely” after a two-year break this year

After a two-year break due to corona, the Frequency in St. Pölten will take place from August 18th to 20th this year.

On August 17th, the “Prequency” for early campers will increase. In addition to Bilderbuch, RAF Camora and Cypress Hill, among others, organizer Harry Jenner announced four acts from the top ten of the charts: Gayle, Glass Animals, Lost Frequencies and Jason Derulo. “We will ensure more hygiene and cleanliness at the festival,” said Jenner in a press conference on Friday.

“The Frequency will definitely take place,” emphasized the organizer in St. Pölten. This is the 20th edition of the festival, originally planned for 2020, and the Lower Austrian capital was the venue for twelve of these. Tickets are “nearing the end,” Jenner said. The day tickets for Saturday are expected to be sold out next week.

The hygiene concepts should be expanded “to the maximum” – in this context Jenner named more toilets and washing facilities as well as more toilet and hand washing paper on the premises of the event center (VAZ). According to the festival director, there are no plans for mandatory corona tests or a 2G or 3G rule. The flow of visitors on paths and parking areas should be equalized.

Early Camping starts on Tuesday, August 16 at 8:00 a.m., and on August 17 the “Prequency” takes place with artists like Gayle. Acts like AnnenMayKantereit or Lewis Capaldi can be seen on the following days. The festival will once again take place on the VAZ site, the exhibition area has been extended to include the former soccer field. This year’s event is “even safer because there are fewer bottlenecks,” explained Jenner. We camp again on the Traisen. The additional parking spaces made available in 2019 may be used again this year.

According to Jenner, many tents were left behind on the site at past festival editions. That’s why a Swiss company was hired for this year. Visitors can use a tent issue and return point. “For the unteachable, the tents are collected, washed and reused by the company,” Jenner explained. The rest is fully recycled. As further measures, the festival boss named can return points, reusable cups, a garbage bag issue with a deposit and an oil barrier on the Traisen. In addition, around 200 volunteers will sensitize visitors to keep the festival site clean and minimize waste. Divers will retrieve items left behind from the Traisen after the event.

Mayor Matthias Stadler (SPÖ) emphasized that the festival is an “important stimulus for the St. Pölten economy”, especially for trade, gastronomy and accommodation. The traffic concept “proved well” with the last Frequency. For some visitors, a visit to the festival is the “initial spark” to study in St. Pölten and to move to the state capital.
