Midfielder recovered from cancer
It was a beautiful day for Bournemouth in several ways, as 24-year-old midfielder David Brooks announced in the morning that he has recovered from cancer. Seven months ago, he was diagnosed with lymphoma.
Brooks plans to return to the field. “In the not-too-distant future I hope to play in this beautiful stadium again,” he said.
Bournemouth has a Russian owner with Maxim Denim, but unlike Roman Abramovich at Chelsea, the businessman is not affected by sanctions against Russia because of the war in Ukraine. Denim has a British passport and no known business interests with the Russian government.
