Frenkie de Jong’s transfer to Manchester United is in danger of extinction

Barcelona

Manchester United in danger of failing to get Frenkie De Jong. De Jong’s agent has reportedly closed negotiations regarding the transfer of the 25-year-old midfielder.

De Jong is wanted by Manchester United in the summer transfer market. MU’s new manager, Erik Ten Hag, is the figure of De Jong to strengthen his team’s midfield. Ten Hag understands De Jong’s abilities very well because the two have worked together at Ajax Amsterdam.

The Red Devils are so serious about getting De Jong. They are reported to have flown to Barcelona to complete the transfer of the Dutch player last week.

United have reportedly agreed to pay the price set by Barcelona for De Jong of 65 million euros plus a bonus of 20 million euros. However, it turned out that Barcelona also asked MU to pay off De Jong’s salary which was still in arrears by El Barca worth 17 million euros.

The Red Devils objected to Barcelona’s request. MU wants to negotiate again to find another way to be able to recruit De Jong without paying his salary which is in arrears by the Blaugrana.

This problem made De Jong’s transfer to Old Trafford never happen. The protracted transfer saga of De Jong has made the agent of the former Ajax Amsterdam player reportedly starting to lose patience.

Reports from player transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the agents of De Jong Ali Dursun and Hasan Cetinkaya revealed that his client would not leave Barcelona. They no longer open negotiations regarding a salary reduction in De Jong’s transfer agreement.
