Frenkie de Jong has broken his silence on his future as rumors link him to Manchester United, away from FC Barcelona.
The Batavian have said they want to stay at Camp Nou.
Not to miss
“I prefer to stay at Barcelona,” he told ESPN. “I’ve said it before, Barcelona is my dream club. Contacts with other clubs? I don’t want to talk about rumours. I feel good at Barcelona. There’s no deal and nothing official.”
If it were purely footballing reasons, there’s no doubt that De Jong would stay at Barcelona this summer – he’s one of the best midfielders in European football and still has his best years ahead of him. But FC Barcelona is living a difficult economic reality.
