Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Video of French players taunting Lionel Messi appeared on social media following Argentina’s victory World Cup 2022.
France, especially Kylian Mbappe, would be the injured side after losing on penalties 2-4 (3-3) against Argentina, on 18 December. This claim arose because Mbappe continued to be the subject of ridicule even though he looked good because he was able to score three times against La Albiceleste.
The boos came from Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The Aston Villa player had asked his teammates to do so moment of silence for Mbappe in the locker room during the celebrations for the World Cup.
Martinez’s ridicule didn’t stop there. The former Arsenal player holds ‘Baby Mbappe’ during the Argentine champions parade in Buenos Aires on Tuesday (20/12).
Reported by Sports bible, the provocations that Martinez and the Argentine continued to make to Mbappé have also aroused criticism. Also, Messi, who is Mbappe’s teammate by the way, did not say anything about it.
But now French players are also said to have mocked Messi during his 2018 World Cup victory celebrations at the Stade de France. This is known from the viral video circulating on social networks.
During the celebration, Didier Deschamps’ men sang a song about N’Golo Kante. In one of the verses of the song there are words that mention Kante stopping Messi.
“He’s small, he’s sweet, stop Messi”, reads one of the verses of the hymn to Kanté.
France met Argentina on their way to winning the World Cup in Russia. At that time, Les Bleus won 4-3 against Argentina in the round of 16.
“Remember when the whole French team made fun of Messi in 2018? Yes! Mbappe deserves to be made fun of by Emi. Karma,” wrote one netizen.
“This is what I call the perfect revenge. Beating France in the final after losing in the round of 16 in 2018,” said another netizen.
