French stocks rise again, CAC 40 Index jumps 1.85 percent

Paris (ANTARA) – French stocks closed higher again on Wednesday (7/21/2021), extending gains for a second straight day, with the benchmark CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange surging 1.85 percent, or 117, 63 points to settle at 6,464.48 points.

The CAC 40 index rose 0.81 percent or 50.88 points to 6,346.85 points on Tuesday (20/7/2021), after 2.54 percent or 164.11 points to 6,295.97 points on Monday (19/7/2020). 2021), and cut 0.51 percent or 33.28 points to 6,460.08 points on Friday (16/7/2021).

Of the 40 stocks of selected large companies that are components of the CAC 40 Index, 39 stocks managed to record profits, while the remaining one stock suffered losses.

French multinational advertising and public relations firm Publicis Groupe soared 4.93 percent, becoming the top earner (top gainer) among the leading stocks or blue chips.

It was followed by French multinational aerospace components and defense equipment industry company Safran which jumped 4.55 percent, and French multinational automaker Renault added 4.46 percent.

Meanwhile, the only leading loser was French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi, which edged down 0.07 percent.
