A rich Frenchman died tragically
One of the richest Frenchmen – millionaire and politician Olivier Daso died after a helicopter crash.
This was reported by AFP, citing sources in the investigation. The pilot of the helicopter was also killed in the accident.
According to police sources, the private helicopter crashed on Sunday afternoon in Normandy, where Daso’s summer residence was.
French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on Twitter that Daso’s sudden death was a great loss.
“Industry leader, MP, Air Force Reserve Commander: throughout his life he has not stopped serving our country to help. His sudden death is a great loss.
“Pray for his family and relatives,” the French head of state wrote.
Olivier Daso is the owner of the newspaper “Figaro”, a descendant of the famous industrialist Marcel Daso – his family owns the company “Daso”, known for the production of luxury private and business aircraft.
Forbes magazine ranks him 361st in the world in wealth worth 5 billion euros.
Olivier Daso has been a center-right Republican MP since 1988. In 2017, he supported Emmanuel Macron in the second round of the presidential vote against Marin Le Pen.
