French Protests Against Controversial Immigration Law Spark Nationwide Demonstrations

The protests come as the date approaches for the Constitutional Council to announce its decision on the constitutionality of the immigration law, with a decision expected on January 25.

Critics of the law believe that it makes excessive concessions to right-wing forces and that some provisions contradict fundamental values ​​and principles; these problems was also recognized by the government.
